Success is a matter of opinion
After the concert last night and very little sleep at night, I still managed to get up at 7 a.m. to go back to the Zittau Mountains. At least it was encouraging that after a week with storm and a lot of rain, the sun was shining again. Nice until you get out of the car and find that an icy wind is blowing. But we didn’t let that stop us.
Without knowing whether I would even get out of bed after yesterday’s 50 km, 20 km were planned for today, because I wanted to achieve a new record of 70 km this weekend.
The way with a friend is half as far
Since we don’t want to go very far in winter, we decided to visit the Kleiner and Großer Zschirnstein in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains this Saturday.
Since it is not worth driving very far in bad weather, we decided to take a walk through Saxon Switzerland.
I wouldn’t call it mountains, but it’s not just small hills either. No matter what you call it, four times up and down can be exhausting.
After four weeks of walking abstinence, a 3-week cold and still not well, today I decided to go for a walk in the woods anyway.
Only a week after going out for the first sun rising, and before the clock change, I wanted to look at the sunrise again. On the Lilienstein above the Elbe very nice, but unfortunately also many others know that.
For the second time on foot I was crossing the border between Germany and the Czech Republic. The view down the cliff was well worth it. For the first time I saw, a group of deer ran past.
