Where the sun is rising, Part II

Only a week after going out for the first sun rising, and before the clock change, I wanted to look at the sunrise again. On the Lilienstein above the Elbe very nice, but unfortunately also many others know that.

So I got up at 4 AM to leave by 4:30 AM and take up the one hour drive to Lilienstein. With hearing strange noises in the dark forest I hiked up to the lookout point facing the east side to see the sunrise. It was very cold weather, but obviously not cold enough for someone to spend the night up there. So I choose another spot to wait for the sun, as I really did not want to wake up anyone. As always I was too early and some time left, but I used this moment to get some breakfast and get my camera ready.

And then it was time. The sun was rising at the horizon and there is only one word to describe it: magical!

As I did not only want to watch the sunrise I also picked out a route to take a little hike. So after the sun got up, I started my hike to the Kleine Bastei and Gamrig. From every lookout point I was able to see Lilienstein. It was amazing!
