Despite knee pain I had decided to do the 60 km. The knee was bandaged and as it turned out the least problem within those 60 km. The only thing I did not achieve that day was to stay under 10 hours, but I think even with 10 hours 40 minutes, I can be very satisfied.
After it didn’t work out two weeks ago, on this day a buddy from Bavaria, whom we visited in July to have a hike in the Alps, came to visit us, because he has never seen the Saxon Switzerland before.
Actually we had planned a hike in the Saxon Switzerland for this Saturday. However, since the visit for which we had planned this hike had to be postponed, we decided to go to the Ore Mountains after much discussion and ideas.
After being two weeks in Slovakia we went back to the Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland. It felt a like coming home.
After a very long time, we finally got the opportunity to go hiking in the Czech Republic again. The anticipation for the lunch was very big since days, how I missed the goulash at the Czech Republic.
Today was supposed to be a special day with a special challenge. A 22 km hike? No, that’s not a challenge anymore. Carrying about 6 kg on your back? I want to get used to it, with tendency to carry even a bit more. Over a thousand meters of altitude? That’s more like it. Keeping the heart rate below 160? That could be really difficult, or is good preparation everything?
One time climbing please
